and then screaming crying throwing up because he survived all his friends. all of them. regulus, evan, dorcas, pandora. (he lost pandora and dorcas first, when they went the different way, after losing reg there was no more hope for him, but losing his evan made him lose his mind, made him the mad man)

(barty finally understood why dorcas went mad, basically all achilles, after marlene died. he finally understood the pain dorcas felt, when evan died in his arms. and you know how it goes, going mad with pain. he finally understood why dorcas laughed, when she took down no small number of death eaters in her madness, before voldemort finally stopped her. he understood it, when he tortured alice and frank, ones of those responsible for evan’s death, and he laughed too, madly, finally tasting the sweetnest of revenge. and at those moments he allowed himself for a moment to miss his former friend, to mourn her. and he let himself taste the bitter memory of her, of them, of who they used to be, of who they never got to be. just for a moment. and it was dorcas who he thought of in his last moments, when he finally understood the relief, she must have felt, as she was finally going to join the love of her life and above. and he died with the same little content smile as he thought of the girl who was once his friend, who went mad over her lovers’ death, whose doom was so similar to his, yet not really. he thought of dorcas and marlene when he finally reunited with evan in the afterlife. and in the afterlife, finally free, finally happy, finally not in pain, he hoped that in their next life, the doom would be fate instead.)

“Legend hon I’m sorry, but we don’t have time to stop for a snack and I don’t have anything here with me. And once we’re done here we need to pick your brother up from—”

“But I’m hungry!” Legend moaned, and rubbed his stomach with a pleading look.

Malon sighed and continued to walk with him through the laundromat, rubbing her back as she went to go pick up their laundry. The washer had broken the other day and they hadn’t had time (or really the money) to get anyone out to fix it, which meant multiple trips to the laundromat.

Which was wearing on everyone’s patience, but especially a certain recently-turned three year old.

“I know Legend, and I can get you something when we get home, okay?” Malon soothed, starting in on taking the clothes out of the washer with a sigh. “But for now we can’t—”

“I’m HUNGRY!”

Malon gave her son a look as he yelled, and winced as the baby inside her suddenly kicked.

It’s just going to be one of those days, isn’t it?

Malon exhaled, waiting until the baby settled down, then put a hand on her hips, looking down at her grumpy son.

“Legend, don’t yell inside. I’ll get you a snack when we get home and that’s that,” she said firmly, but Legend’s face only grew stormier.

“I want one now!”

“Legend—”

“NOWWWW!”

“Legend! You’re not going to get a snack at all if you keep acting like that!” Malon scolded, and Legend went silent for a moment, his hands tightened into fists.

Then he crossed his arms, and his face turned firm as he glared up at her.

“I wanna snack! And I’ll... I’ll be a bunny if you don’t have any! In front of everyone! And ivisible!”

Malon startled, and her eyes widened as she looked around the fairly busy laundromat, but the other patrons were mostly ignoring her and her fussy son.

“Legend do not threaten to use your powers,” she said sharply, and Legend stomped his foot.

“I will! Everyone’ll see!”

“Young man you know that’s not allowed,” Malon said firmly, looking him dead in the eyes.

Legend pursed his lips, and Malon got down to her knees with a bit of effort, making sure he was looking at her when she spoke.

“Powers are only for home, Legend. Using them anywhere else could make very bad things happen, and I know you know that,” she said in a low voice, and Legend’s face softened just a little.

“...how bad?” he asked in a quieter voice, and Malon sighed as she put a hand on his cheek.

“Really bad, honey,” she murmured. “It would be very serious if you turned into a bunny here, and it would cause some very big problems for me and daddy. I’m sorry I don’t have any snacks for you, but you’re just going to have to wait. Can you show me you’re a big boy by being patient?”

“...Okay mama,” Legend mumbled after a minute, voice still grumbly, but much less loud.

Malon smiled, and kissed his head. “Thank you honey. Now then, if you help me with the clothing, it’ll be that much sooner that you can get a snack,” Malon said as she slowly got up off her knees, and Legend perked up, going to the washer and attempting to fish the remaining clothes out.

His arms were too short to reach inside though, so he merely took the clothes out of Malon’s hands and put them in the basket.

“You know, I might have something you can eat in the car, I’ll check when we’re all done okay?” Malon said as they worked, and Legend gave a rapid nod, going twice as fast as he had been previously.

His tantrum seemed to have been completely forgotten, and Malon smiled at him, and inwardly sighed with relief.

Crisis averted.

he leads them out of the forest. when they ask why he is there “oh! i got lost around here somewhere. i woke up like this- i dont really remember much about what happned before,”

they offer to lead him home, “i dont think i had one of those before! sounds like fun!”

and that breaks their heart. because this kid put so much love into l’manburg and he coulnt even call it home.

and as they get closer tommy stops.

“whats wrong?”

“i cant come any closer than this. sorry,” he says.

“have you tried coming here before?”

“yeah. i cant go nay further, its like an ivisible barrier for me...” he touches the air and they watch as it ripplles.

and they rember tommy was exiled. of course that would curse him after death.

Headcanons:

-Oberon Ampora back in his years as a NRC student was in Octavinelle and was a dorm leader.

-Jael Makara  back in his years as a NRC student was in Savanaclaws, his imposing figure, intimidating aura and high skills in voodoo magic made him a famous, fearsome and respected student in his dorm and the school.

-Pholos Zahhak back in his years as a NRC student was in Ignihyde, his talents in magic enginery made him an emblematic student of the dorm.

-Back in her years in her all girls magic school, Topaz Serket was know as a troublemaker but also as a prodigious student, especially in mind magic.

-Since him and his family live in the Valley of thorns, he know the royal family and highly respect them but still treat Malleus as one of his students when they’re in NRC.

-Despite being very huge, highly skilled in voodoo magic and intimidating, Jael is in fact a big teddy bear who’s very friendly but push his buttons too much like messing with his loved ones and the teddy bear will turn into a terrifying grizzly bear.

-Pholos is very passionated about horses, he even got a big stable in his garden with a lot of horses from normal horses to magic horses like pegasus or unicorns.

-Topaz is an adrenalin junkie, she just love doing intense actions and taking risks like charge in directly while she and her crew are attacking a sea monster or when she eat fugu nabe despite the risk of being poisoned if the fugu isn’t well cooked.

-Oberon take his job as a teacher very seriously and can’t stand it when his students act as if combat magic is a game or as if they can beat anyone easely and never miss an opportunity to put them in their place.

-Jael is able to see things other people can’t which he call “motherfucking miracles”, this can go from signs about future events too seeing mythical ivisible creatures and spirits.

-Pholos is a BIG magic science nerd, try to talk with him about anything related to magic, science or both and he will talk about it for hours.

-NEVER tell bad things about Topaz’s pirate crew, the Sea Heart crew is one of her prides and joys and she will turn into shark food.

-Even if he is harsh with his students, Oberon care about them which is why he is so hard with them ‘cause to him life is not a peacefull garden and he doesn’t want his students to make foolish decisions which could lead them to be hurt or worse. He had his soft moments and is sometimes a confidant to the students whenever they need to talk.

-Jael is not a fan of soft drinks, he prefer make his own carbonated drinks which he mix in it a bit of his magic it’s “more motherfucking miraculous” according to him.

-Pholos is very strong but like VERY very strong, like he can lift awfully heavy piles of materials like it was just paper with ONE HAND, so messing with him isn’t a bright idea.

-One of the things Topaz love to do when she’s in the privacy ofher cabin is to write in her logbook, she just love write about her pirate adventure and had already wrote a good bunch of logbooks.

-Despite not showing it all four of them had a deep desire to know what they are and where they came from.

-All four of them really love they kids and show them their parental love in their own way.

The test sequence and a number of drawings and storyboards by Wildey were used to sell the series to ABC and sponsors. They are the scenes of Jack Armstrong and Billy Fairfield escaping from African warriors by hovercraft. Īlthough they do not appear in any episode, scenes from the Jack Armstrong test film were incorporated into the Jonny Quest closing credits. Wildey did not design the more cartoonishly drawn pet bulldog, Bandit, which was designed by animator Richard Bickenbach. Wildey would work on other animation projects, but it was with his work on Jonny Quest that he reached his widest audience, bringing a comic book sense of design and style to television cartoons. The look of Jonny Quest was unlike any other cartoon television show of the time, with its colorful backgrounds, and its focus on the characters with their jet packs, hydrofoils, and lasers. and the group's handsome bodyguard, secret agent Race Bannon, who looks as if he stepped out of the pages of Steve Canyon. The cast of characters included Jonny's kid sidekick, named Hadji, Jonny's globetrotting scientist dad. The show was an action/adventure story involving the feature's namesake, an 11-year-old boy.
